from Early Showa period Ca.1920~
SIZE: 149cm×202cm

It combines various fabrics from different periods, such as cotton, silk, flannel, and synthetic fibers. There are many layers of fabrics, so it is about 5 mm thick. I can see many interesting fabric such as "Tshumugi=silk ikat textile" "Katazome=stencil dye fabric", Indigo dye cotton fabric "Sarasa=old stencil dye fabric, etc.....
It can be used not only as a wall decoration but also as a rug.

It was made in the Kansai region of Japan, but the origin of the fabric may vary.
I am not sure when it was made, but there are traces of machine stitching on it, so I do not think it is that old. Since household sewing machines became popular in Japan in the late 1940s or later, it is highly likely that the rug was made after that time.
