Various fabrics from different periods are combined, including "Aizome" indigo-dyed fabrics, "Katazome"=pattern-dyed fabrics, old Sarasa, stripes and checks. The light red fabric another highlight, which was dyed with plant-derived dyes that have faded. It was probably dyed with "Benibana"safflower or Akane.
In the past these red color was also used to ward off evil spirits.

Unique patterned "Katazome"stencil-dyed indigo fabric is also used.
The auspicious motifs such as chrysanthemums, bamboos, and pine trees are found here and there,
it showing the aesthetic sense and intelligence of the creator of this patchwork.

The fabric is about 5 mm thick as it is made up of several layers of fabric.
It can be used not only as a wall decoration but also as a rug.

It was made in the Tohoku region of Japan, but the origin of the fabrics varies.
It was probably made in the early Showa period, around the 1920s.
This rug has a positive feeling with bright colors.
